i have no idea about these but have all 3 im 24 weeks pregnant i want to know how this is going to affect me and my baby…any answers will be great thanks

Strep B is something you need to be tested for at 37 weeks. The test is a quick swob in the vagina and another swop on the outside of your anus (butt). Strep B is not a sexually transmitted disease; it’s just something women get from time to time throughout their lives. About 1/3 of women test positive at 37 weeks. The test isn’t done prior to 37 weeks because Strep B comes and goes so fast. So, if you have it now there is a huge chance you won’t have it at 37 weeks pregnancy.

Now, if you do test + for strep B at 37 weeks, you’ll be given antibiotics during delivery to prevent it from passing on to your baby. And if you’re having a c-section, you don’t have to worry about it getting passed to your baby because your baby isn’t passing through the vagina. Strep B won’t hurt you at all. There are no symptoms of it, either.

Candida Glabrata is a type of Yeast Infection. The treatment is a cream that you apply for 7 days. I don’t think it’s anything that would hurt your baby if you get treated for it.

Candida Albicans is another type of yeast infection, one that 80% of people have with no symptoms. But, it can turn into thrush. Thrush Is a common infection that moms pass to their babies and vice versa (but I haven’t heard of it being passed during pregnancy)…usually a baby gets thrush while breastfeeding and then the mother develops an infection on her nipple because the baby gets the infection in his mouth.
